Thermoclines
Sculptures
The work explores the complexity of human emotional and psychological layers through
a series of sculptures made from folded aluminum and steel sheets.
Inspired by thermoclines—layers
of water with different temperatures—the work reflects how our experiences and emotions interrelate
and transform, much like the waters of the oceans.
The sculpture, like thermoclines, suggests that invisible and often complex dynamics exist between the different "layers" of our being, constantly
altered by external forces.
The hook that passes through the folds acts as an intrusion, reminding us of the fragility of these
internal states and their susceptibility to being destabilized.
This piece, much like the interaction
with water, reflects on the balance between what remains hidden and what is manipulated, and how this
vulnerability exists both within ourselves and in the environment around us.
