Rivers in Pipes Hiding In Walls
Acrylic Paint on Paper
In the series Rivers in Pipes Hiding in Walls, I explore the idea of internal fluids or rivers, those that remain hidden, invisible from the outside, yet are fundamental to understanding our deep emotional state. The bluish tones, which vary in subtle gradients, evoke a marbled texture, both organic and cold, representing the complexity of the feelings hidden within our "inner walls."
The "columns of water" that appear in each piece serve as a visual metaphor for these internal flows, as if they were hidden conduits within these walls, carrying the water that connects our most personal emotions. Sometimes, this water flows forcefully, falling and forming small ripples in its curves, revealing the tension and agitated movements that arise within us, even though everything may seem calm on the outside.
The use of blue gradients, from lighter to darker tones, reflects the duality of our emotions, which oscillate between serenity and turbulence. Each variation in the water’s tone suggests moments of clarity or emotional depth, a dance of light and shadow that speaks to the contrast between what we show to the world and what we truly carry inside.
It's a reflection on the invisible: those internal flows that, though hidden, are what truly define our inner state, and how sometimes what seems calm on the outside is only a reflection of the forces flowing intensely within us.
