Reflect
Sculpture
This work stems from my desire to explore the disconnection we’ve created with our natural environment.
The circular mirror with the fishing hook emerging from its center represents a moment of vulnerability:
the instant just before being caught, a moment full of tension and reflection. When the viewer looks into
the mirror, they see themselves as a fish underwater, facing the danger of being trapped.
With Reflect, I am not focusing on the physical appearance of the individual, but on what that image
reflects on an emotional and ecological level. I want the viewer to pause and think about the impact of our
actions on the environment, about how our decisions, often driven by disconnection and indifference,
are pushing nature to a breaking point.
It is an invitation to reflect on that moment just before the capture, on the fragility of our surroundings,
and the urgency of changing our relationship with them. Through this piece, I aim to provoke a deep reflection,
encouraging an internal examination of our role in the world.
