Healing Rivers and Secret Lakes
Acrylic Paint on Paper
"Healing Rivers and Secret Lakes" is a series of three abstract paintings that explore the complexity of human emotions, represented through a visual narrative that speaks of healing, pain, and memory. The blue lines that traverse the paper, like meandering rivers, represent the marks of a past filled with profound experiences. These lines not only cross each other but intertwine, forming a network that evokes scars, a stitching that connects different moments of life.
At the heart of the work, an organic, black shape emerges, symbolizing the innermost emotions, like a shadow or an insect-like creature. This central figure is the echo of what lies within, a reflection of the darker, hidden parts of our being. However, amidst this emotional chaos, small blue ovals appear, like secret lagoons of calm, offering a sense of peace and respite, as if time has created small sanctuaries of serenity amid the pain.
The blue lines emerge from these lagoons, connecting the spaces of tranquility with the black shadow, suggesting that the healing process is deeply intertwined with the darkness within. And among it all, red shapes appear, fragments of pain that emerge from the depths, reminding us that suffering, though transformed by time, never fully disappears. This series invites the viewer to reflect on the scars of the past and how, over time, memories and emotions can heal, though the traces are never completely erased. Healing Rivers and Secret Lakes is a visual meditation on how life flows, connects, scars, and transforms.
